Designing a spacesuit-inspired figure for the rhyton meant building a new design and form vocabulary, work that led to the EVA Glove and the Helmet Cup series shown here. It was a long process of misdirection and failure, but that struggle shaped the work: bulbous, curved forms form naturally when raising metal, while sharp geometric edges push against the technique. The Copper Helmet Cups trace that early, slow search for the right design, and the Silver Helmet Cups carry it further, each piece refining a detail as I grow more familiar with the design and material.
